Thinking in Systems: A Primer

Donella Meadows

“one of the worst ideas humanity ever had was the interest rate…” often times, the problem really lies within the system structures we place from the very beginning.

Flowers for Algernon

Daniel Keyes

"intelligence and education that hasn’t been tempered by human affection isn’t worth a damn” ignorance truly is bliss

What I Talk About When I Talk About Running

Haruki Murakami

a biography of Murakami’s running journey and how he uses running to counter-act the “unhealthy” job that is writing

maybe running is the perfect counter to programming...

Men Without Women

Haruki Murakami

somehow, the short stories make you feel the same sort of emptiness after each read

favourite one was "An Independent Organ"

South of the Border, West of the Sun

Haruki Murakami

maybe i am too T to understand why you would throw away your marriage and kids for your first love

Norwegian Wood

Haruki Murakami

this guy is getting played... very emotional read except the explicitness ruined my immersion-

11/22/63

Stephen King

10/10, this is the best usage of time travel and i have never been so invested in JFK’s assasination before

The Bullet That Missed

Richard Osman

this series is so funny its never misses

Ender’s Game

Orson Scott Card

i'm glad i am in a world void of pre-teens influencing world politics

The Will of the Many

James Islington

i think i'm just a sucker for fantasy academy plots (ashlee knows ball)

Morning Star

Pierce Brown

(mild spoiler ahead)

this message summarises my experience with the book:

what did u not like about the ending of morning star (other than the fact than it ended kinda abruptly and the past two books were literally a roller coaster of emotio-)

The Man Who Died Twice

Richard Osman

i would die twice to reread this book from scratch again, no book does multiple perspectives better than this

Golden Son

Pierce Brown

(mild spoiler ahead)

i feel like i just lost a part of my soul reading this book... surely the next book is not as much of a roller coaster as this one...

Red Rising

Pierce Brown

second read of this book! i love hunger-games trope and underdog academy slop, this is my jam (mustang is my goat)

The Odyssey (Emily Wilson translation)

Homer

a mandatory read after watching the odyssey movie, the book is really different (the greek gods basically dictated the flow of the epic).

couldn't believe they left out the "noman" cyclops scene too

odysseus and telemachus reuniting was literally js athena transforming his appearance in eumaeus’s hut-

The Thursday Murder Club

Richard Osman

this is an amazing series, the humour is so perfect and i will be reading everything-

elizabeth is my based goat and joyce is such a flirt (leave my bernand alone)

i hope i see bogdan in the future

48 Laws of Power

Robert Greene

this is only a performative book if you take it literally. don't take it too seriously, and you got a 10/10 history book
